Personal profile

From 1994, De Kramer was editor-in-chief of the Rotterdam homeless newspaper, which he founded in many cities in the Netherlands. In 2003 he became the national coach of the Dutch homeless team, which won bronze at the Homeless Football World Cup in Graz, Austria.

With Hugo Borst he founded the Sunday Foundation in 2007, which is committed to underprivileged children in Sierra Leone.  As a thank you for his efforts, he was crowned Chief in Sierra Leone.

The Rotterdam native traveled the world for KRO television for years to draw attention to projects of various charities.

In his hometown, Sander de Kramer created a statue for Rigardus Rijnhout, better known as the Giant of Rotterdam. The full-size work of art – 2.36 meters – calls for tolerance.

De Kramer is an ambassador for, among others, KWF Kankerbestrijding, Johan Cruijff Foundation, Care Nederland and the Rotterdam LACH Foundation.

He swam with the Singelswim Utrecht on June 14, 2015 (together with colleagues Anita Witzier and Sofie van den Enk) to raise money for more research into FSHD, presented by KRO-NCRV and NOS.

In the spring of 2021, Sander received the Four Freedoms Award.

As an actor he played roles in 'The Bombardment', 'The Passion' and the children's film 'Striger'.

He presented programs such as 'Inspection Service of Value', 'The Walk', 'The Court of Audit' and 'The feeling of the Four Days Marches'. For the 'Negative Travel Advice' program, he traveled to various war zones.

In 2022, he started the successful campaign "Stoves for Ukraine" and donated more than 10,000 stoves to Ukrainian families in need.
